Welcome to Chesapeake Watershed Project

The Chesapeake Bay Watershed Project is a citizen science initiative in which community members and students investigate water quality issues on local and regional scales and collaborate across the Bay watershed to analyze data and take action. It is run in collaboration with the NOAA Chesapeake Bay Office. It is open and free for students and educators across the Chesapeake Bay watershed to join.

River keeper organizations, classrooms, nature centers and others are invited to contribute their water quality data recorded from anywhere within the Chesapeake Bay watershed.

Participants, researchers, and the public are invited to explore these contributions in maps and graphs through FieldScope. You can view data from citizen science participants alongside data from professional water quality monitoring efforts from the USGS, NOAA, and other agencies.
